Tabenings - Eleven edition
So it's done! CORE #11 will arrive on Wednesday for those prescient enough to provide feedback on CORE #10, and on Friday for the rest of you hoi polloi.
Me, I'm sore - got back to working out after six months of not, and now I am all achy and weak like a kitten. But it's a good weak, I guess. Also gym time always has that undercurrent of sexiness for me - witness 'Fitness' - there's nothing that hits one of my big red buttons like the idea of a muscular woman enthralled. That combination of strong body and enslaved mind, mmm.
Sadly I don't think we have any of those at the gym I go to - you have to go to Equinox for that, and I can't afford $200 a month for a gym membership.
Anywhoo, hope you enjoy CORE #11 - it's a little off-beat, and I think a little longer than it needed to be, but there are some hot scenes in there and some fun moments, and Uzobono's art is as gorgeous as ever. And after you've read it through a time or two, don't forget to read it through with an eye towards providing us with your feedback.
Since this was a pre-release I'll keep my comments (and gratitude) brief so as not to spoil anything for anyone. But WOW. I will compile an appropriate list of superlatives for the feedback questionnaire but ... WOW. Spectacular. Knowing you were worried, I felt like I had to tell you it's amazing right away. (Though really, you must have known, right?)

ReplyDelete1) While it's always hard to predict where you and Tabico will take us, I was expecting some a scene hinting what Exis might be up to and/or what the Hive's intentions are in the wake of having a node taken and then reclaimed. There was also a line from Core #8 concerning the Hive slowing down recruitment and I was hoping to get another hint as to why.
2) Melanie's further conversion and "lesbianization" were very satisfying first because I think this is the first time in the series she actually had any sex and secondly it added another layer of control to her submission to the Hive. The re-writing of Melanie's memories was a nice payoff to readers who've just re-read past chapters.
3) Where is Exis? What exactly are the ramifications of Tammy's "choice" concerning her nanite infection?
4) What is the Hive's "current planning" that requires Melanie's compliance to be at 99.99999%? What does a bunny girl "metamorphosing" a person actual do to them? Will any more of Costigan's creations get out?
5) The small touches like Mel's nipples obviously getting harder as she's controlled are fantastic. I also really liked the texture of suits Nicole and Tammy were in when visting Costigan's lair. Oh, and the graying of the font when Melanie's memories are being re-written is nice.
6) The panels flowed well and were quite easy to follow,
7) I'd like to see more of Melanie's corruption story along with some reveling in betrayal. It would be foolish not to take advantage of the fact that Nicole, Tammy, and Mel now all play for the same team...

Congratulations on another excellent edition of Core to you and Uzobono. It was not what I expected, although you did give hints. It had a different pace and feel but this worked for me (even more so on a second read). Most importantly we got to spend some dedicated time watching great characters living in an amazing universe. Lots of super hotness, mind control and humour (Nicole was brilliantly written). The only downside to this edition is that it was so chock full of questions that demand answers that waiting another 5 months might actually hurt. I shall try to be strong.
