Tabenings - Election Edition

Well, it's election night, and I'm all freaked out watching the coverage, so nothing witty in the Tabenings this week. I just... how can we... how can so many people... gah! So terrifying.

Anyhow, hopefully the sun will rise tomorrow, and there will be additional mind control smut in the future.

  1. Well, my dearest friend, I definitely do not desire to cause any type of upset here. But, I believe that because the democratic convention was so terribly corrupted and slanted against Bernie Sanders, that many people, myself included, had to vote third party. Thus, it is what it is. With luck, they learned from this, and the next time a candidate with such absolutely overwhelming support, runs as a candidate. They will let him!

  3. It isn't the end of the world! There are still a lot of progressives who won smaller races.

  4. I have often said that Christian Conservatives would vote for Lucifer himself, straight from the pit if promised a few judges.

Trump is far smarter and far more LIBERAL than he lets on. Sadly he is utterly amoral, racist, and misogynistic.

I dislike being "had" and I was here. Trump had this planned out for quite a while, probably from when he was still a Democrat.

I'm not sure Trump follows through on anything he promised and those that voted for him are going to find out he isn't what they expected. No voting record you can believe anything of him.

My biggest concern is damage done to our democracy itself. That's hard to assess at this time.

    1. Democracy would only be damaged if the whole thing was rigged. Which it wasn't. Democracy does its thing.

Now, we know from the history that trustworthy presidents usually accomplish about 40% of what was promised. Shitty ones 20%. With luck, if he really builds a wall, it will only be three feet high. :D

    2. Well, democracy would actually mean that popular votes were the deciding factor. We have a representative Republic. So, in America, if one recites the pledge of allegiance, they say, "And for the Republic for which it stands," no, "And for the Democracy for which it stands," just to give you an example. In our country, we have a very strange and undemocratic thing called the electoral college, but I fully agree if we had a democracy, it would have done it's thing! First Bernie democratically would have been the nominee, and then, democratically would have become president!

    3. Yes, I agree. Electoral college is a price for federative country. We've had this, too. It's still democracy. Or, well, it is what we imagine democracy if we don't actually know Greek. Maybe we should call it "Proportionally conditioned opinion poll"

Anyway, don't take it personally, but I'm glad I'm not an American. You guys have my sympathies.

    4. *what we imagine democracy MEANS

      (why can't we edit posts?)
(And why are we talking politics, anyway? I got into the smut business so I wouldn't have to deal with the RL shit 24/7)

You are right though, conversing about politics on Tabico's blog may be in poor taste. I felt the same when I first posted and did not desire to create a faux pas. I suppose we can all agree that when the sky eventually turns green, and the Slugs and Bugs descend from the sky to enslave and corrupt us, it's probably best, and hot, to simply give yourself to them! There, blog is back on track!

    6. The electoral college is actually pretty brilliant, even if it is frustrating when it doesn't work the way we'd like. The founding fathers were concerned about mob rule through fear and for high urban areas to control the country so they broke it up. In order for a leader to win they can't just have the consent of a highly populated region but a majority of the country. I too voted third party. Can't believe Trump won. And yes, this election was lost at the primaries

    7. I think mind control enthusiasts should appreciate this....

The most brilliant con man of his generation decides in 1998 he is going to be president. He explores running as an independent, but determines it can't be done. Joins the Democratic Party (mostly because his views are pretty darn liberal). In 2008 after exclaiming the Republicans "broke the economy", joins the Republican Party. Why? He is wealthy which Dems look on with distrust and there are superdelegates, essentially denying him any chance of nomination. Of course he is a New York republican, the kind of animal which rarely wins the nomination because southern voters (in the case of Republicans, white southern voters). To burnish his case he hops on the "birther" movement, giving him racist credentials. He then secures the Republican nomination without ever being on the record about any issue. He proceeds to lie to everyone, telling everyone what they want to hear (he is after all a sociopathic con-man). With this he manages to get elected to President-without ever exposing a real view on anything.

What does Trump stand for? (For the record I don't like him and didn't vote for him) I haven't a damn clue. He is somewhat constrained because he is a Republican and it is important nobody realizes they have been conned.

So, first I expect he will rep,ace Obamacare (he might even improve it), his animosity toward illegals seems somewhat real (though he isn't really going to build a wall...I am somewhat ambivalent on this issue), he is a bit of a racist so I wouldn't expect a good civil rights record from him, as to abortion rights and a Supreme Court judge my crystal ball is cloudy. I would note he doesn't like ideologues, read Christian Conservatives.

As a whole he reminds me a bit of Andrew Jackson-who I do not like, but was a more than adequate president.

  5. ...and now for something completely different.

Hope you and the subsidiary are taking it well, and the two of you are safe.

Since you and Dollmistress now live in countries that have really bad decision making skills, maybe the two of you can bond further over this. Or come out with a renewed vigor/interest in smut making.
